Last
December 27, 2003, about 37 members of Xavier School Batch '79 gathered
together to spread good cheer as well as renew ties with one another.
Many of our beloved classmates flew in from all over the world to
be here. The HS MPH was a fitting place of assembly with our very
own Xavier School Director, Fr. Johnny Go, S.J., a member of Batch
'79 himself, playing host. Yours truly led the school tour which
included the HS Building, Angelo King Multi Purpose Center, the
windier Grade School Quadrangle and the newly refurbished Administration
Building. Pictures from the Historical Walk and the scale-model
of the Sports Center were great hits among our friends.
Some
of our classmates who were here from abroad were Paul Ong Siu Wah
(China), Kenneth See (HK), Kenneth Cheng (Singapore), Martin Licuan
(US), Stephen Yap (US), Manny Yulo (US) and Dr. Martin Cootauco
(US). Incidentally, Laurence Limsico (Singapore) and Owen Cu (Canada)
were likewise in town a month earlier.
Other
attendees of the December 27 event included Dean Rudy Ang, James
Bernas, Eric Dy Lim, Jackson Laureano, Bob Yulo, Perry Co, Lim Bin
Sun, Dexter Co, Davy Lee, Joey Bautista, Philip Wong, Jerry Teh,
Raymond Uy, Ernesto Ravina, Dr. Michael Kaw, Daniel Cu, Homart Ang
and Edmundo CoTingKeh.
Incidentally,
our golfers were also present in full force: Gotch Chua (Captain),
Norbert Son, Wilbert A. Lim, Howie Ching, Philip Sy, Timmy Yang
& Eric Bautista. Only Bobby Go was not able to join us. We wish
them luck in the coming Fr. Johnny Go Cup this January 2004.
After
the school tour, the whole gang proceeded to Satay Curry for a sumptuous
dinner and fellowship. Everyone received an "I Love XS"
button as a souvenir for the evening of fun, laughter and reminiscing.
It was a great way for Batch '79 to kick-off the organization of
our Silver Jubilee activities in 2004. Special thanks to Dr. Timmy
Tan & Wilson Lee for helping organize the successful get-together.
See
you all in our Silver Jubilee activities. Luceat Lux!
