Xavier School Fencing Cup 2025, a spectacular celebration of skill, sportsmanship, and spirit was held at the Fr. Rafael Cortina, SJ Sports Center in Xavier School San Juan, Oct. 4 and 5.

The Xavier School Fencing Cup 2025 proved to be an astounding success as over 300 fencers from across Metro Manila gathered for two action-packed days of competition and camaraderie. The event showcased the best of Philippine youth fencing, uniting athletes, coaches, families, and supporters in an atmosphere charged with energy, excitement, and sportsmanship. Moreover, the beneficiaries of the Cup include the school\u2019s Faculty, Administrative, and Maintenance Personnel Association or FACAMPA and the Grant-in-Aid or GIA scholarship program.

From the moment the first bout began, the sound of clashing blades and the cheers of enthusiastic spectators filled the gym. Fencers competed across all three weapons: foil, sabre, and epee, demonstrating remarkable discipline, precision, and agility. Each match was a display of tactical brilliance and mental strength, embodying the very essence of fencing: a sport that combines strategy, speed, and respect.

The Xavier School Fencing Cup has long been regarded as one of the premier school-based fencing tournaments in the country. This year\u2019s edition, however, stood out not only for its scale, but also for the sense of community it fostered. The event drew participants from a diverse range of clubs, schools, and fencing academies, each bringing their own brand of talent and passion to the piste.

The organizing committee, led by the Xavier School Athletics Office and the Xavier School Fencing Team, worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth flow of the event. The tourney\u2019s Directoire Technique was Sandro Antonio B. Sia (XS \u201820), who himself was a Saberist for the team during his time. With the help of dedicated volunteers, referees, and coaches, the competition ran efficiently, with matches starting promptly and results released on time. The teamwork behind the scenes was as impressive as the performance on the fencing strips.

Xavier School\u2019s commitment to sports excellence and character formation shone through the entire weekend. The school\u2019s philosophy of developing \u201cmen fully alive, endowed with the passion for justice\u201d was evident not only in its athletes but also in the event\u2019s spirit of collaboration and community. The Xavier fencers, both new and seasoned, showed grace under pressure and respect for their opponents, values that the sport of fencing deeply upholds.

As the final medals were awarded and the lights dimmed on Sunday evening, there was a collective sense of accomplishment and joy. For many participants, it was more than just a competition–it was an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with others who share their love for fencing.
