{"id":146058,"date":"2025-12-17T23:40:03","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T23:40:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.xs.edu.ph\/?p=146058"},"modified":"2025-12-17T23:40:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T23:40:07","slug":"xavier-school-honors-2025-xavier-kuangchi-awardees-for-exemplary-alumni","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.xs.edu.ph\/index.php\/xavier-school-honors-2025-xavier-kuangchi-awardees-for-exemplary-alumni\/","title":{"rendered":"Xavier School Honors 2025 Xavier\u2013Kuangchi Awardees for Exemplary Alumni"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On December 5, 2025, Xavier School formally honored its 2025 Xavier\u2013Kuangchi Award for Exemplary Alumni recipients in a ceremony celebrating lives dedicated to leadership, service, and the common good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Xavier\u2013Kuangchi Award for Exemplary Alumni is given to Xaverians who have authentically lived out the Xavier Ideal of being a person fully alive\u2014one who generously places his gifts, skills, and resources at the service of others. Awardees exemplify, in an exceptional way, the six defining qualities of a Xavier graduate: <strong>Competence, Character, Conscience, Compassion, Culture, and Community<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s recipients were chosen by the Xavier School Board of Trustees. The 2025 awardees are four distinguished alumni whose work has advanced sustainable development through transformative leadership in caring for both the environment and the underserved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>2025 Xavier\u2013Kuangchi Award for Exemplary Alumni Recipients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mr. Ramon Eleuterio \u201cDondi\u201d B. Alikpala, XS \u201980<\/strong><br>Dondi\u2019s career in public service spans several decades and a wide range of leadership roles. He began his work at the Philippine Center in New York City before serving at the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, where he later became Deputy Administrator for Trade and Tourism. He subsequently joined the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), eventually serving as Chairman of its Board of Trustees until 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more than twenty years, across both public and private sectors, Dondi has been deeply involved in addressing the country\u2019s long-standing challenges in access to clean and safe water. Through initiatives he helped establish and support, water services have reached remote and underserved communities. In a country surrounded by water yet burdened by water scarcity for many, his efforts have helped bring dignity and hope to countless Filipinos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mr. Miguel William \u201cMikko\u201d S. Perez, XS \u201984<\/strong><br>Mikko is recognized for his commitment to financial inclusion through his social enterprise, <strong>Ayannah<\/strong>, a financial technology company that provides accessible and affordable digital financial services to marginalized and unbanked Filipinos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past 15 years, Ayannah\u2014under Mikko\u2019s leadership\u2014has facilitated more than <strong>\u20b110 billion<\/strong> in domestic and cross-border transactions. Its platforms have served over <strong>500,000 customers<\/strong> through a nationwide network of more than <strong>10,000 agents<\/strong>, many of whom are small neighborhood store owners. His work has enabled communities to participate more fully in the formal financial system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mr. Jacinto \u201cJack\u201d C. Ng, Jr., XS \u201986<\/strong><br>Xavier School honors Jack especially for his leadership of <strong>Pasinaya Homes<\/strong>, which works closely with the Joy-Nostalg Foundation. Together, they have developed <strong>28 inclusive and sustainable communities<\/strong>, improving the lives of over <strong>100,000 beneficiaries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jack\u2019s approach goes beyond housing construction. His projects emphasize holistic community building, integrating programs on financial education, values formation, family development, and grassroots leadership. In recognition of this advocacy, he was named <strong>EY Philippine Entrepreneur of the Year in 2024<\/strong>, honoring his vision of business grounded in compassion, social justice, and environmental care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mr. Alan Luis S. Silayan, XS \u201991<\/strong><br>Alan is acknowledged for his trailblazing contributions to carbon finance and for his leadership in climate change research and policy, particularly in relation to urban and community resilience. Over the past two decades, his work with <strong>Carbon Finance Solutions, Inc. (CaFiS Inc.)<\/strong>, the <strong>Asian Development Bank<\/strong>, <strong>Clear Air Asia<\/strong>, <strong>Catholic Relief Services Philippines<\/strong>, and the <strong>USAID-funded Climate Resilient Cities Project<\/strong> has helped protect communities most vulnerable to climate-related threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His efforts have directly benefited populations on the margins, who are often the first and most severely affected by climate change and natural disasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>A Celebration of Service and Inspiration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Xavier School expresses its deep gratitude to <strong>Dondi, Mikko, Jack, and Alan<\/strong> for their unwavering dedication to serving others and safeguarding the environment. Through their sustained commitment and generous service, they exemplify the values at the heart of a Xavier education. The community eagerly anticipates learning more about their journeys during the awarding ceremonies held on December 5, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>May their lives continue to inspire fellow Xaverians to pursue paths of service, solidarity, and stewardship for the Filipino people and our shared world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Xavier School also extends sincere thanks to the entire Xavier community, especially
