The upcoming event this October, with the theme \u201cLearning Today,\u201d will be an online global showcase of 100 handpicked schools that will share their expertise and best practices in pursuit of the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/sdgs.un.org\/goals\/goal4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 Quality Education<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">. The following themes will also be covered throughout the event: b<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18px;\">uilding programmes to enhance employability, entrepreneurship and life skills, t<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18px;\">he use of technology, p<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18px;\">romoting the science of learning and teaching, d<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18px;\">eepening family and community engagement, f<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18px;\">ocusing on wellbeing.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Xavier School was selected to be one of the 100 schools to participate in World Education Week. As one of the global showcase schools that will share its experiences and expertise, Xavier school will focus on the theme of the use of technology, particularly in the context of the school\u2019s transition into the Xavier School E-Learning (XSEL) platform.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Xavier School global showcase, entitled \u201cConnected Learning: Leveraging Pedagogy, Relationship, and Technology for Education in a Pandemic,\u201d will be held on October 7, 2020, from 3:00\u20134:00 p.m. (Philippine standard time).\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">The keynote speakers for the Xavier showcase are Mrs. Jane Cacacho, Grade School Principal; Mr. Jim Tuscano, Grade School EdTech Coordinator; Mrs. Ma. Theresa Ladrido, High School Principal; and Mr. Christian Bumatayo, High School EdTech Coordinator.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">The online events of participating schools will be hosted from the World Education Week website, and registration is ongoing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 18px; color: #000000;\">These are the steps for registering:\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1. Log in your Eventbrite account or create a new one (it\u2019s free!).<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2. Follow T4 Education on Eventbrite.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. Select &#8220;Register.&#8221;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4. Scroll through and read all event overviews (they are listed in date and GMT-time order). You can check your local time on\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.timeanddate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">timeanddate.com<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5. Add a ticket for each event you would like to attend (registering for multiple events at once is quicker than registering separately).<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6. Select &#8220;Register.&#8221;\u2019<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7. Complete the checkout information and select &#8220;Register.&#8221;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8. Please check your email account for an email from Eventbrite \u2013 add that email to your contacts to try to ensure future emails do not get sent to your junk mail folder.\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9. If you have a smartphone, you can also install the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/eventbriteapp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eventbrite app<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0and have notifications switched on.
