Two Xaverians bagged silver and bronze medals at this year’s International Junior Math Olympiads (IJMO) and Vanda Science Global Finals. Both competitions were held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last July 26–30, 2019.

Former Xaverian Alexander Ryan Manuel, who represented Xavier School throughout the competition period, won silver medals in the Vanda 2019 Individual and Team Competitions and bronze in IMJO 2019. Lyonel Justin Ching (10B) won bronze medals in Vanda 2019 Individual Competition and IMJO 2019.

Alexander Manuel and Lyonel Ching received a congratulatory message from the Asian MathSci League (AMSLI) President, Mrs. Rechilda Villame. “Thrilling it is to witness our kids doing very well in an Asian platform whose ambition is to empower students with conceptual understanding, and logical and critical thinking skills in Mathematics and Science which are beyond their respective grade levels,” expressed Mrs. Rechilda Villame.

AMSLI is a local organization responsible for the training and the participation to the contests of the Grades 2 to 11 students of the Philippine team.

The Xavier School community congratulates these students for bringing pride to Xavier School and the whole country. May they continue to let their light shine in everything they do. Luceat Lux!
