To the Xavier Community:
The Xavier School Board of Trustees is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of the Xavier-Kuangchi Award for Exemplary Alumni: four graduates of Xavier School who have been champions of sustainable development through their inspirational leadership and transformational work in caring for the environment and the poor.

Mr. Ramon Eleuterio “Dondi” B. Alikpala, XS ’80
Dondi’s lifetime of public service has led him to play many different roles, first at the Philippine Center in New York City, then to the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (where he eventually served as Deputy Administrator for Trade and Tourism), and then at the Metropolitan Waterworks & Sewerage System (MWSS), which he served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees up to 2013.
Over the last 20 years, first in the public sector and then in the private sector, he has worked tirelessly to address the issue of access to water, creating programs that help to deliver safe water to far-flung communities. In a country with over 7,000 islands, it is ironic that for millions of our countrymen, clean water has been an unattainable luxury. We would like to recognize Dondi for his effort to make this tragedy a thing of the past.

Mr. Miguel William “Mikko” S. Perez, XS ’84
The Xavier School community is proud to recognize Mikko for his service to millions of unbanked and financially excluded Filipinos through his social enterprise, Ayannah, a financial technology (fintech) company that has made digital financial services accessible and affordable to people at the “bottom of the pyramid”.
Under his leadership, Ayannah has, over the last 15 years, processed over P10 billion in cross-border and domestic payments across its various software platforms, serving over 500,000 unique customers through over 10,000 agents, most of whom are sari-sari store owners.

Mr. Jacinto “Jack” C. Ng, Jr., XS ’86
Among Jack’s many involvements and achievements, we would like to recognize in particular his leadership of Pasinaya Homes. In close collaboration with his own Joy-Nostalg Foundation, Pasinaya Homes has built 28 sustainable, resilient, and inclusive communities for over 100,000 beneficiaries. His focus has not been limited to just constructing affordable houses, but to building entire communities, incorporating financial literacy, values formation, family strengthening and grassroots leadership development programs in each of his projects.
In 2024, Jack was honored as EY Philippine Entrepreneur of the Year in recognition of his advocacy for “business that is rooted in love for people and care for the planet, and his work to build a more just and compassionate world, one dignified home, one empowered family, one transformed community at a time.” Xavier is proud to add our recognition of his work to all the other commendations and recognitions he has already received.

Mr. Alan Luis S. Silayan, XS ’91
We would like to recognize Alan for his pioneering work in the field of carbon finance and leadership role in the study of climate change and its impact on cities and communities.
Over the last twenty years, his work as a climate change professional at Carbon Finance Solutions, Inc. (CaFiS Inc.), the Asian Development Bank, Clear Air Asia, Catholic Relief Services Philippines, and then at the USAID-funded Climate Resilient Cities Project has directly impacted the lives of those on the margins of society, who are always most at risk from the negative effects of natural disasters and climate change.
We thank Dondi, Mikko, Jack, and Alan for dedicating so much of their lives to the service of others and the protection of the environment, giving generously of their time and resources, and thereby living up to our Xavier School ideals. We are proud to bestow this award upon them and look forward to hearing their stories in greater detail at the awarding ceremonies that will be held on December 5, 2025.
May their example inspire other members of our Xavier community to similarly explore life choices that will lead them down the path of greater service to the Filipino people.
We thank the Xavier community, and in particular the Selection Committee for the Xavier-Kuangchi Awards for Exemplary Alumni, chaired by Mr. Rodolfo “Rudy” Ang, XS ’79, for their involvement in and leadership of this year’s search process
