After their triumph at the HKIMO 2019 Heat Round held last July 13, Emilio Javier Chua Uysipuo and Jacques Derek Kho Ong of Grade 4 Section H bagged two silver medals at the recently concluded Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO) 2019 Final Round.
Held last August 30–September 2 in Hong Kong, HKIMO hosted young delegates from Australia, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
Team Philippines received 9 trophies, 47 gold, 81 silver, 92 bronze medals, and 56 merit awards during the Awarding Ceremony at the AsiaWorld-Expo.
Gold medalists from HKIMO and Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad Finals will compete at the World International Mathematical Olympiad in December in Tokyo, Japan.
