Xavier School was awarded at the 2019 Regional Search for Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Schools

Xavier School was presented with the Nestle Water Conservation Leadership Award (Elementary School Category) at the awarding ceremony of the 2019 Regional Search for Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Schools – NCR at The Hive Hotel, Quezon City last November 15, 2019.

The Nestle Water Leadership Award seeks to recognize and promote solutions, practices, and initiatives of schools in water management. Schools are evaluated as regards their plans, programs, monitoring scheme, and maintenance structures for water education, water awareness, water efficiency and conservation, and wastewater treatment initiatives. The wastewater treatment facility, which treats and recycles water from the comfort rooms to water the football fields, was recognized as an important and valuable contribution of Xavier School to the saving of the environment.

Receiving the award for the school were Mrs. Jane Cacacho (Grade School Principal), Ms. Marites Elizalde (Campus Operations Director), Mr. Gerardo Castañeda (Security Coordinator) and Mr. Ronald Demegillo (Physical Plant Coordinator). The award was presented by Ms. Angel Bautista (Corporate Affairs Executive of Nestle Philippines), Mr. Emil Cruz (Environmental Management Bureau), Dr. Rebecca Roxas (Science Coordinator SDO Manila), and Mr. Erwin Beltran (CHED). The Plaque of Recognition came with a P10,000.00 prize money for the school.
