Last October 1, 2022, the Xavier School’s Grade School Unit opened its doors to 108 families looking for a potential partner school for their sons’ academic and personal formation. This open house is a yearly tradition for the Grade School Department to give families an overview of the school’s programs and facilities.

Parents with their cheerful and beaming children ranging from 4 to 7 years old were welcomed at the Angelo King Multipurpose Center. The event kicked off with a short plenary session where Mrs. Jane Cacacho, the Grade School Principal, gave a short welcome message, followed by Mrs. Jopin Galvez, the School Registrar, who shared the process for application, testing, and enrollment. Fr. Aristotle Dy, Xavier School President, closed the plenary with his insights about why it is best to partner with Xavier School.

Families received a personal tour of the Early Education Department (EED) campus and were able to experience firsthand how it is to be a Xavier student. One of the stops on the tour was the EED Library where the children were able to explore the wide collection of books and audio-visual materials. Another stop was the Grade 1 classroom where the young participants got to make artwork and to try out the newly installed Imago interactive screen. The fair weather gave the families a chance to enjoy and play in the EED and the Kaszap’s playground. The GS Library welcomed the guests with a special blacklight puppet show that was a visual treat to the audience. Lastly, the school visitors enjoyed the cool comfort of the  Gotauco-Yu Auditorium as they watched a short video that featured the testimonies of Xavier school parents, students, and alumni on what they like about Xavier.

The tour ended at the Grade School Dining Area where a light merienda of taho and ice cream greeted the families. While waiting for their turn to enjoy the refreshments, the families also took advantage of the photo booths especially prepared for this event.

Xavier School would like to thank the families for sharing their valuable time.
