Dear Members of the Xavier Family,

The theme of the Ignatian year is “to see all things new in Christ,” a perspective that St Ignatius took to heart while recuperating from his cannon ball injury. It is a perspective that led to his conversion from being a worldly military soldier, to one who serves Christ.

We are all still largely confined to our homes, more so now due to the delta variant of the virus. As we go about our lives, specially our studies and work online, I hope the experience of St Ignatius also serves as an invitation for us to see all our experiences in a new light. If we have eyes to see, we can savor the hope that comes from special graces like Hidilyn Diaz’s Olympic gold medal, a first for our country, the quiet service of all our medical and other  frontliners, and the value of our journey to continue teaching and learning in the midst of an ongoing pandemic.

Let us all continue to be be inspired by the vision of St Ignatius, to find God, and to love and serve, in all things.

Happy Feastday!
