Young Xaverian Shines at MCC Standard Open Tournament

On September 15, 2019, Karl Zachary Genato Fajardo competed in the Metropolitan Chess Club (MCC) Standard Open Tournament, a competition sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP).  The tournament was  held at the Function Hall of Starmall EDSA-Shaw.

Being an open tournament, the competitors were a pool of chess masters, university varsity players, top senior chess players, and top chess coaches. Despite the odds, Karl Fajardo of Grade 2F brought home two awards:

– 9th Place Overall (Bronze Medal)
– Top U-8 (Gold Medal)

Xavier School congratulates Karl for his excellent performance in this rigorous competition. May you continue to hone your craft and let your light shine!
