Dear Xavier San Juan Community,

 

Xavier School and Allianz PNB Life, together with the Tzu Chi Foundation, have partnered in an activity to teach and encourage recycling, to reduce clutter  at home; and to encourage  proper disposal of waste for a cleaner and healthier environment.

 

Everyone is invited to bring select recyclable material to Xavier School to donate for proper and environmentally safe disposal.   

 

Please see important details below, for your information and guidance.

 

 

  1. Schedule

October 6, Thursday and October 7, Friday (for the GOLD Group)

 

October 13, Thursday and October 14, Friday (for the BLUE Group)

 

*Students who belong to the WHITE Group may drop off items on any of the dates specified.  

 

Drop off time:

Thursday – 6:30 -7:30AM and 2:30-4:30PM only

Friday – 7:30 AM – 4:30 P.M.

Non-functioning appliances and gadgets (cellphones, computers, fax machines, cables etc.)

Foam and mattresses Furniture and cabinets Wood

Candy and food wrappers Slippers/shoes (unusable) Bags

Bathtubs/sinks/toilet bowls Tires

Utensils (steel or plastic) 

Toys

Clothes

 

GUIDELINES/ REMINDERS

 

a. Please segregate all items prior to brining to Xavier.

 

b. Items should be segregated or classified into the following, packed and properly labeled upon turnover.

 

  • Plastics
  • Paper
  • Glass Bottles
  • Steel/metal/cans/kitchen utensils
  • Wire and Pipes
  • Non-functioning appliances and gadgets
  • CDs anf Cassette Tapes

Labels of each package should include: Name of Student, Grade & Section, Group Color and Item Category

 

c. A volunteer will be at the designated drop off points to check, weigh, and record the donated items.

 

d. All items NOT INCLUDED in the drive (refer to list above) will not be accepted. These should be brought

back home and not left in school. ft in school.  

 

All donations from each group color will be recorded, tallied, and summarized.  The winning group (Blue, Gold, or White) of each campus will receive a P20,000 prize for the biggest contribution, measured by weight.  The prize may be used for Xavier School’s sustainability projects.

 

Alumni, faculty, and staff may bring their labeled donations to the drop off areas as well.

 

Let’s all work together to come up with a cleaner and greener environment here in Xavier and in our homes!

    My son is an Alumni. What do we need to put on the label aside from the type of item? And will computer peripherals like mouse, keyboard, headphones be accepted? Tried calling the school but the operator doesn’t know the answer to my questions and no one was picking up on the local he transferred me to.
